Summer Fun! includes a wide variety of visual and performing arts classes designed to inspire the artist in every child who attends. \nThis year we are offering \n\nSummer Fun! Half Day Camps for Ages 5-7\, 8-12 and 11-14: Students can choose from a variety of visual and performing arts classes. Sign up for one camp\, or create a full day by signing up for two camps and lunchtime camp care.\nSummer Fun! Day Camps for Ages 7-10: Each week is filled with fun and engaging visual and performing arts classes.\n\nOur Day Camps are full day\, in-person camps for ages 7-10. Each week is filled with fun and engaging visual and performing arts classes for up to twenty campers per week.

Featuring Nick La Riviere on trombone and vocals\, Michael Kim on trumpet\, Armando Alvarez on sax\, Kelly Fawcett on guitar\, Chris Van Sickle on keys and vocals\, Louis Rudner on bass\, and Alex Campbell on drums. Performing originals\, New Orleans party music\, Soul\, R&B\, and anything fun! Best Laid Plan’s original music is influenced by a diverse mix of artists – from Ben Folds to Trombone Shorty to Allen Toussaint. Piano centric pop and funk grooves with New Orleans style horns and wild trombone solos that could have been 80’s guitar solos. A dynamic performance\, from a whisper to a roar\, from a protest song to a feel-good. A musical journey not to be missed. \nSinger-songwriter Nick La Riviere is an accomplished trombonist who has toured internationally with bands such as the Juno award winning Paperboys\, Michael Kaeshammer\, Locarno\, The BC World Music Collective\, and Adonis Puentes. He’s been a special guest with such bands as 54-40\, Steven Page (Barenaked Ladies)\, and even The Temptations. As a freelancer\, he’s one of Victoria’s busiest musicians.

This year\, Coquitlam’s free Kaleidoscope Arts Festival returns Aug 20-21.\nJoin us at Heritage Square from 12pm-4pm each day for Imagined Journeys. Learn about the wonders of travel and the people who record their stories through writing. Visit our exhibits in the Fraser Mills Train Station and the 1970s CP Rail Caboose\, and then create a spyglass craft and a comic strip with our template inspired by your real or imagined trips.\nTravel Story Time in the Mackin House Parlour each day at 1pm. Recommended ages for story time is 3-8 years old but everyone is welcome.\nFree\, no registration required.
