It has evolved over the years and has never lost sight of its role as a stepping stone for performers.\nIn 1992\, after five years of fund-raising\, it became a resident theatre company of the new Deep Cove Shaw Theatre. Having a home base\, the group has been able to attract a large loyal audience\, which in turn has made the group stronger and financially independent. The excellent reputation of First Impressions Theatre is spreading and its high quality productions with large audiences have made it one that experienced actors seek out.\nVancouver boasts a huge acting community due in part to the burgeoning movie industry. The actors involved in this industry hone their skills by participating in live theatre productions\, where they receive immediate uninfluenced feed-back from the audience. Valuable to professional experienced actors\, live theatre is also the ultimate tool for new actors to achieve experience\, build resumes and learn first hand all aspects of mounting a production.\n_________________________________________________________________________________\nSINGLE TICKETS ON SALE!\nAdults: $45 | Seniors: $38 | Students: $16\nEVERGREEN BOX OFFICE: 604-927-6555\nOpen Monday – Saturday | 12 – 5pm

SUMMARY:Mozart and Her Brother
DESCRIPTION:  \n\n\n\nOctober 25 – 29\, 2022 | 7:30PM + 3PM Saturday\nMozart And Her Brother tells the story of Maria Anna Mozart (known as Nannerl) and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart as they grow up touring the great cities of Europe. Although she was a brilliant musician\, and possibly even more skilled than her famous brother\, Nannerl was eventually left behind by her family and by history. Although we know she wrote music\, no known copies of it have survived.\nDeveloped by Mark Weatherley and Masae Day\, the play explores the siblings’ complicated relationship with each other\, their domineering father\, and music. “Mozart And Her Brother” will feature two multi-talented female artists performing as multiple characters\, while also playing selections from the music of W.A. Mozart (arranged by Day) on both violin and piano.\nWith the show’s combination of skilled classical musical performance\, comedy\, clown\, bouffon\, and physical theatre\, it is a treat for classical music and theatre audiences of all sorts. It is also an opportunity to showcase an emerging company with a timely mandate: to create opportunities for female artists of the present and highlight female artists of the past.

SUMMARY:Raine Hamilton String Trio
DESCRIPTION:ABOUT RAINE HAMILTON\nResonant\, acoustic chamber folk with an otherworldly edge\, and a lyric presence that cuts deep. Prism-clear vocals and strings\, anchored in the ancient mountains\, reaching out beyond the earthly.\nRaine is part prairie songstress\, part storyweaver; Each song has a story\, delivered between songs with humour and grace. Raine invites the love of the violin into the singer-songwriter genre\, writing for violin and voice\, as well as for guitar and voice. Joined by cello and upright bass\, expect string arrangements that push and pull\, that move as they console.\nA classical violinist and musicologist by training\, Raine and the trio offer string-quartet-like arrangements of Raine’s original songs. They call this chamber-folk\, a hybrid of the classical tradition of string quartet chamber music\, with the singer songwriter folk that comes so naturally to Raine.\nRaine’s latest work\, the full-length album Brave Land (2021-22)\, is a concept album about mountains\, and the courage\, wisdom\, and otherworldly connection they represent. Here\, as in Raine’s award winning album Night Sky\, the songs are set to intricate and seasoned arrangements for guitar\, violin\, cello\, and double bass.\nRaine believes that music is for everyone\, and that we all have something to share. An experienced educator\, Raine offers workshops in songwriting and fiddle tune writing (EN/FR). Raine also offers concerts with American Sign Language (ASL) interpretation\, to help make live music and the community that comes with it more accessible to the Deaf community
