DESCRIPTION:Burke Mountain\, a thriving community in the lower mainland\, is set to host a vibrant Lunar New Year Festival on February 24\, 2024\, at Coast Salish Elementary School. Organized by the Canada Asia Connection Association with the support of Coast Salish Elementary’s principal\, this festival aims to bring the community together\, fostering a sense of unity and celebrating the multicultural fabric of Burke Mountain. \n\n\nAttendees will have the opportunity to immerse themselves in traditional cultural experiences from China and Asia\, including Guqin demonstrations\, Chinese chess\, calligraphy\, and painting. Children can participate in hands-on activities such as playing traditional instruments\, learning go\, calligraphy\, painting\, and crafting traditional items. The Temple Fair promises an array of Chinese specialty foods\, offering a fusion of tradition and modernity. \n\n\nThe Festival’s diverse program will include talent shows\, Asian costume performances\, tea ceremonies\, and various cultural performances. Chinese drum\, Dragon and lion dances\, Sichuan Opera face-changing performances\, Guqin and Guzheng ensembles\, Taijiquan\, and modern dance are among the spectacular performances that will grace the stage. \nRegistration is suggested.
