There are also additional parking lots around Coquitlam City Hall that can be accessed via Burlington Drive\, as well as a TransLink Park and Ride lot located at the corner of Pinetree Way and Guildford Way. \nThere is no Lights at Lafarge permitted parking at Town Centre Park Community Centre\, Evergreen Cultural Centre\, or City Centre Aquatic Complex.  \nView the Lights at Lafarge Parking map (PDF) \nTaking Public Transit to Lights at Lafarge\nLafarge Lake at Coquitlam’s Town Centre Park is conveniently located near the SkyTrain to the Lafarge Lake-Douglas SkyTrain station. DESCRIPTION:Burke Mountain\, a thriving community in the lower mainland\, is set to host a vibrant Lunar New Year Festival on February 24\, 2024\, at Coast Salish Elementary School. Organized by the Canada Asia Connection Association with the support of Coast Salish Elementary’s principal\, this festival aims to bring the community together\, fostering a sense of unity and celebrating the multicultural fabric of Burke Mountain. \n\n\nAttendees will have the opportunity to immerse themselves in traditional cultural experiences from China and Asia\, including Guqin demonstrations\, Chinese chess\, calligraphy\, and painting. Children can participate in hands-on activities such as playing traditional instruments\, learning go\, calligraphy\, painting\, and crafting traditional items. The Temple Fair promises an array of Chinese specialty foods\, offering a fusion of tradition and modernity. \n\n\nThe Festival’s diverse program will include talent shows\, Asian costume performances\, tea ceremonies\, and various cultural performances. Chinese drum\, Dragon and lion dances\, Sichuan Opera face-changing performances\, Guqin and Guzheng ensembles\, Taijiquan\, and modern dance are among the spectacular performances that will grace the stage. \nRegistration is suggested.

Modified in consideration of current provincial health orders and public safety\, this year’s Lights at Lafarge winter lights display has been dispersed to provide two walking loops within Town Centre Park. \nIn order to minimize crowds and support public safety\, those planning a visit should consider off-peak hours (before 6 p.m. and after 8 p.m.)\, and avoid weekends and the week of Dec. 20 to 26\, when it can be busier and more congested. And\, as there will be no kick-off event this year\, the nine-week long display offers lots of time to get outside and walk among the lights. \nThe City’s Park Hosts will be in the park to remind visitors of walking direction and physical distancing.
