SUMMARY:Remembrance Day - Blue Mountain Park
DESCRIPTION:Coquitlam residents are encouraged to honour veterans in meaningful ways this Remembrance Day. Coquitlam’s traditional Remembrance Day ceremony and parade\, hosted by the Coquitlam Royal Canadian Legion Branch 263 – will be held on Nov. 11 and is open to the public for those wishing to pay respects. \nThe parade will begin at Como Lake Middle School at approximately 10:15 a.m. and will continue with a ceremony at the Blue Mountain Park Cenotaph starting at approximately 10:30 a.m. \nThe City commemorates the lives of fallen Coquitlam soldiers on rolls of honour on the second floor of City Hall\, and at the cenotaph at Blue Mountain Park\, open year-round. Those who wish to visit the cenotaph for a moment of silence or to lay a wreath to commemorate Remembrance Day are encouraged to do so before or after Nov. 11 to help prevent gatherings.

After the success of our inaugural event in 2022\, the Austin Heights BIA is thrilled to announce the return of HollyDaze in the Heights. \nThe free\, flow-through open festival site will allow patrons to move throughout the event without restrictions. Activities will include: food trucks and prepared food vendors\, site-wide beer\, wine and cider\, holiday photo booth\, local musicians and carolers\, artisans and crafters\, kids crafts and games\, and roaming holiday characters. \nThis fun-filled event will be held on the south side of the 1000 block of Austin Avenue between Nelson and Marmont\, showcasing the area as a vibrant urban neighbourhood to eat\, shop and live in. \n‘Tis the season in Austin Heights!

Stay tuned to our website and social media channels for updates throughout the season. \nThe event will run from Friday\, November 24\, 2023 until the end of February 2024. This season’s outdoor exhibit features a 1.2-km pathway that includes more lights\, re-imagined elements that highlight flora\, fauna and fairytales. \nFor the best viewing experience\, consider planning your visit during off-peak hours (before 6 p.m. and after 8 p.m.).
