DESCRIPTION:Registration for Summer Fun! begins on Sunday\, April 17 at 7:00 am for online registration and 1:00 pm in-person or by phone. \nPlace des Arts’ Summer Fun! program runs for six weeks offering many exciting week-long options for creative young people. Summer Fun! includes a wide variety of visual and performing arts classes designed to inspire the artist in every child who attends. \nThis year we are offering \n\nSummer Fun! Half Day Camps for Ages 5-7\, 8-12 and 11-14: Students can choose from a variety of visual and performing arts classes. Sign up for one camp\, or create a full day by signing up for two camps and lunchtime camp care.\nSummer Fun! Day Camps for Ages 7-10: Each week is filled with fun and engaging visual and performing arts classes.\n\nOur Day Camps are full day\, in-person camps for ages 7-10. Each week is filled with fun and engaging visual and performing arts classes for up to twenty campers per week.

DESCRIPTION:Teen actors in Place des Arts’ Summer Theatre Troupe will take audiences on a trip to the future in a reimagined show that’s being staged in Coquitlam. \nJoin Place des Arts’ Summer Theatre Troupe for From Now to Nowhere\, a devised\, family-friendly adaptation of William Morris’s News from Nowhere. Eight performances run at the TD Community Plaza\, Coquitlam Town Centre Park\, 1299 Pinetree Way\, from Tuesday\, July 26 -Sunday\, July 31. Admission is free. \nDirector\, Molly Beatrice\, and Production Designer\, Hannah Abbott\, worked with talented youth performers (ages 13-18) to collaboratively create a theatrical piece with a goal to “reimagine community.” This vibrant play allows these young actors to explore their idealized society and provides a much-needed feeling of hope for what the world could look like. \nSynopsis \nWilliam Guest has found himself transported to the year 2122 where society has reimagined itself. Guest learns through the power of song\, dance and the help of the friends he meets along the way\, that there is hope for the future.
