DESCRIPTION:Join Place des Arts and First Nations artist Christine Mackenzie to take part in our community art project. Help us create an art piece that celebrates multiculturalism through First Nations art and culture. Fill in the designs and experiment with techniques such as shading\, colour blending\, perspective and texture. We are attending events throughout the summer and at each event\, a different component of the art project will be painted by you. \nWe can all identify with the natural world regardless of our culture or background. Find out more about the world around us and how it relates to you. We invite you to ask questions and learn more about First Nations culture. Through your participation\, we hope to inspire self-exploration\, dialogue\, learning and sharing. \nThe final project will be on display at Place des Arts from September 9-October 19\, 2022. Stop by to see your part and reflect on how our community can grow and learn from each other. \nFREE

DESCRIPTION:Join us for the opening night reception to celebrate the Place des Arts’ vibrant and creative community! \nThis exhibition showcases artwork created by the Place des Arts community including current and past students\, teachers and staff of all ages. \nThis past year\, the theme at Place des Arts has been Transformation. After more than a year of social distancing\, we have had no choice but to adapt and transform in drastic ways. Be it gradual or sudden\, superficial or profound\, once transformed something new emerges and there is no going back to exactly what was before. Each year\, our community reinforces how the arts can be a powerful catalyst for transformation and creative expression\, and artists were encouraged to reflect on this theme in their submissions. \nFREE
